Veterans

A project for veterans and the community, built around the restoration of the Wyuna.

The Western Port Oberon Association Incorporated owns the historic vessel Wyuna, which is presently in Tasmania under restoration. Volunteers have been going back and forth to Bell Bay in northern Tasmania, bringing Wyuna back to life. The plan is to eventually sail Wyuna back to her ancestral home in Melbourne.

Our mission

To provide a platform for veterans and the community to work together on a project that will provide a wide range of benefits in many ways.

• Once again, our veterans can experience the comradeship of fellow veterans.
• We will foster a sense of achievement and satisfaction in preserving a historic vessel for future generations to enjoy.
• Veterans will have the opportunity to become a member of the ship's crew when going to sea.

The owners of the Wyuna are committed to establishing a project to assist in the wellbeing of our veterans.
